The
ukulele
is a fun and versatile instrument. With many chords
requiring only one or two fingers, it's an easy way to
accompany yourself while singing. And, it's portable!
Beginner students can learn basic accompaniment styles
using simple chording along with rudimentary strumming and
finger-style techniques. Single-note melody playing will
also be covered. More advanced learners will build on what
they know, explore chord substitution, clawhammer, chord
melodies and working up the neck of the ukulele. Most
lessons are taught in G-C-E-A tuning, but other tunings can
be accommodated. Repertoire is chosen and modified
depending on individual requests and the level of students.
